We are Renosense Ltd
Renosense Ltd is the controller of your personal data for the purposes of the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Our company number is 17205896. Renosense is a renovation companion built around the Renologue™ persistent home record, helping homeowners and businesses plan, track and manage rooms, products and decisions through our account-based website and app, including free and paid options.
If you have any questions about this policy, including any requests to exercise your legal rights, please contact us at hello@renosense.co or by writing to 66 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NA.
How do you use my data?
- When you create and log into your account we collect your name, email address, password and similar account credentials, and profile and user-generated content, including your Renologue™ home records, rooms, products, decisions, and related uploads and notes. We use this to create and administer your account and provide the service. Our lawful basis is performance of a contract with you, or taking steps at your request before entering into one. If you do not provide this information, we cannot provide the account-based service.
- When you make a payment for paid options we collect your payment and billing information, processed by Stripe, to process payments, administer your purchase and maintain records. We rely on performance of our contract with you and, where applicable, compliance with legal obligations relating to financial and tax records.
- When you use our website or app we collect analytics and usage data to understand how the service is used, improve it, and keep it reliable. Our analytics is cookie-free and aggregated, so we rely on our legitimate interests. If we later introduce analytics that require consent, we will ask for it first. See our Cookie Policy.
- When you use location-related features we may collect the postcode or approximate area you give us, to support home and renovation context features such as local pricing and neighbourhood insight. Where consent is required, we rely on your consent; otherwise on our legitimate interests in providing and improving those features.
- When you consent to marketing, advertising, affiliate or referral technologies we process the information they generate for marketing, advertising, attribution and referral purposes. We rely on your consent under PECR and data protection law.
- If our business is sold we process your personal information because we have a legitimate interest in ensuring our business can be continued by the buyer. If you object, the buyer may not be able to provide services to you.
- To comply with the law and protect our service we may process personal data to meet legal obligations, protect the security and integrity of our website and app, prevent fraud and misuse, and establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Who do you share my data with?
- Service providers and processors that support our website and app, including hosting and database services, email and CRM delivery (Brevo), payment processing (Stripe), affiliate and referral networks, and analytics. They process personal data on our behalf under appropriate contractual safeguards.
- Regulators, authorities and enforcement agencies where we are under a duty to disclose or share your data to comply with a legal obligation, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, property or safety of our users or others, including for fraud protection.
- Prospective buyers of our business, under our legitimate interest in ensuring the business can be continued by the buyer.
Where do you store my data?
We process and store personal data in the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area, and some of our service providers process data in the United States.
Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, we ensure the transfer is lawful and that an appropriate level of protection applies, using an adequacy regulation or appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses, together with any required supplementary measures. Contact us for more information about transfers relevant to you.
How long do you keep my data for?
We retain personal data only for as long as is reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, considering the nature of the data, the purpose for which it is used, the need to resolve queries or disputes, and applicable legal, accounting or regulatory requirements.
Our current retention schedule: account and Renologue™ data for the life of your account plus 12 months; payment and transaction records for the applicable legal, accounting and tax retention period (currently six years); analytics and cookie data for the period stated in the Cookie Policy.
In some circumstances we may carefully anonymise your personal data so that it can no longer be associated with you, and we may use this anonymised information indefinitely to improve the way we work and our services.
How do we keep your data secure?
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data, including access controls, encryption where appropriate, and measures to maintain the confidentiality, integrity and availability of our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information from unauthorised access, loss, misuse or disclosure.
